Among everything else that we’ve done here, I actually feel that this is one of my most controversial strips. Why? I personally have mixed feelings on this issue.
At this point, many are saying “What issue? This is a great comic!” while others are saying “What issue? This is an awesome comic!” (For the record, these are the only two options.)
The issue is this: putting down humanity and raising up Animals. And here’s why I get conflicted: I think many people see this as an either/or decision. Either The Humans are dominant and deserve to slaughter, kill, consume etc. while the animals are defenseless, or The Animals are more intelligent, precious, etc while the humans are a brutal plague on the earth. Personally, I believe there’s another answer which acknowledges the dominance of humans while all valuing and preserving all other life. Is that crazy? Am I crazy?
Well if I am, than I belong in this zoo!!
