So I was IM’ing with my friend in the land down under, and I’m totally freaked out by the fact that he is like 18 hours ahead of me.

At first I was jealous, cuz he gets to see tomorrow before I do. But then I realized, I get to do everything else before he does.

Think about it, if we were just talking on the phone, and we were to randomly discover some strange international conspiracy, and the government were to send an electric shock through the phone and kill us simultaneously, I would actually die almost a full day before he would.  If he died on a Wednesday, I would die on Tuesday.

Which means I would have discovered the conspiracy before him.

Truth IS stranger than fiction.

Well, hey!  It’s another T-Short!  (For those who forgot, we originally planned on running these ’short’ sketches on Tues & Thurs, thus ‘T-shorts’.)

Here’s your chance, Warders: come up with the best caption for this T-Short!  We know many of you read here without ever commenting, but now we’re asking you to sound off!  And to make the pot sweeter…

But we will be offering a prize the next time we post a T-Short Caption Contest!  So look at this time as a chance to hone your skills, whet your whistle, sharpen your claws, and get in shape!  Meanwhile, Dave & Cannon are working on a super cool actual physical mailed-to-you prize for the next contest.  Also: rules.  We’re working on rules.

Alright!  So to start off the contest…let’s see…

…maah, that was too wordy.  What’ve YOU got?

Oreos are Awesome.

I love them. They are great with milk. They are great double stuffed. But by far and away the best oreo combination is something that would make most shudder. The best is when combined with butter.

Butter Melted, how nice it greases, those oreos which are crushed to pieces. Take a scoop up in your hand, take a taste and life is grand. Freeze it for an ice cream pie crust, but wait too long and that crust might just….. be gone.

No really. If you haven’t had oreo pieces and butter, you are missing one of life’s most treasured treats. It is the crust for the Asphalt Pies at Wingers.

There is a reason why I’m fat, you can’t get a body like this without working for it.

Speaking of Oreos, I’m very mixed on the new resealable packages.

1. They don’t open all the way, so you have to jiggle the package around to get the last ones out.

2. Something about them always makes you think there is another oreo in there, but there never is. (Just throw it away when you eat the last one.)

3. The only purpose of being resealable(that I can think of) is to keep the dust out. It certainly doesn’t keep them from going stale. Not that they ever last that long. It’s not really that effective at keeping them in.

4. It is easy to open. This really carries a lot of weight. Which is why I’m mixed.

This calls for more product testing. I’ll get right on it.

We feel that the comic we have posted for Wednesday the 24th of February requires some slight explanation. For some time now we have been advertising a change coming to Animal Ward.  The original plan was to post small single panel strips, in the tradition of Far Side, twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We were going to call them T-shorts. These strips are drawn, without scripts, by Cannon, with the words filled in later by either of us. While this would be fun, due to some major life changes, we can’t commit to this course of action.  What Cannon will commit to is putting them up randomly, whenever he feels like it, which may or may not be very often. Consider them random extras for showing up.

So why is this one posted on Wednesday? Well, we really wanted to share them with you. And the perfect time came up. Truth be told, things have been shaken up in both the writer’s and the artist’s world. Dave just got a new assignment in his church. Which I think is awesome, he gets to work with the young men, and who better to do that than Dave? The initial setup for his assignment is taking a lot of extra work and thought. Keep chugging Dave.

Cannon has a couple things going on. For one, he has another comic which is has a much larger time footprint than does this one. Check it out here. It updates once a week. Also, well, lets just say there is more going on than that. More on that subject later.

We love bringing this comic to you, and we’re excited about the upcoming story line, including a very secretive and exciting new character reveal.
