That, and we’re just learning that 3x/week comics take TIME to make! And to date, it’s paying off only in satisfaction.

Which brings us to our current, um, “improvements” to the site. Faithful Warders will have noticed a hic-up on Sunday when our previous host deleted our account. Well, we’re in the middle of switching hosts, and I simply haven’t had time to work out the kinks.

But fear not!

We’ll be back up & running in a (hopefully) improved fashion in the next few weeks! And our promise to you is this: you won’t lose comics due to our problems. Keep your eyes open: we’ll post comics retroactively to keep our 3x/week schedule.

So keep coming back! Normal insanity will resume as soon as current insanity concludes….

So here’s the conversation I imagine happened leading to this ad:

Jim: “Hey Bob – how are those new sandals coming along?”

Bob: “Not so hot, Jim.  We were trying to make sandals easier to walk with, but it’s backfiring.”

Jim: “Backfiring?  How?”

Bob: “They actually take MORE effort to walk in now.  And we’re scheduled to ship tomorrow!  We’ll lose our shirts!  How are we going to pitch these?”

Jim: “Hmm, more effort you say?  That gives me an idea….”

And so was born the so-called “leg-toning” sandal.

Twitter is somewhere between blogging and instant messaging.  As they put it, it asks the question “what are you doing right now?”, which I opine to be one of the most boring questions ever.  “Uh, I’m sitting at a computer?  I’m…figuring out what I’m doing?  I’m…I’m wasting…time??”  These would be honest ‘Tweets‘.  As a friend of mine put it, it’s stalking in reverse.

Now, the funny thing about ‘tweeting’ is that somebody has to be ‘following’ you to get your message.  Thus the users tend to fall into two, well, three actually, categories.  First, you have the Followers.  These are people who basically just read other people’s tweets, never tweeting themselves.  Second, you have the Tweeters.  These are typically celebrity-class people, tweeting about important things they’re doing.

Then Thirdly, you have people who THINK they’re worthy of following, ever twittering into oblivion with nobody listening.  Cannon and I are two of these.

In case you’ve never heard of it, there’s a little place on the internet called Facebook.  As author of this particular post spends more time there than he probably should, there’s a fan page there for Animal Ward!  Why go there when you’re already here, you ask?  Two reasons.

First, there are open discussions there!  We want your input, we want your feedback, and we want your faces!  …Okay, ignore that last one.  But seriously, there’s a community growing here, and you’re set to get in on the ground floor!

Second, you can help other people find us by ‘fan’ning us on Facebook and referring them there!  Then maybe, just maybe, they’ll find the magic which is Animal Ward.  One can only hope such joy for others!

We’ve figured out our pacing now.  We’ve ironed out some issues in posting to the site, and we’re still working on site design (eeeeever so slowly).  Overall, we’ve enjoyed and learned from our first run.

So where are we going from here?

Good question.  We’ll be resetting the clock, as it were.  We’re calling a mulligan.  We’re going to do a major ret-con.  Specifically, we’ll be re-ordering the strips you’ve previously seen and posting new ones.  So please don’t get upset if you see a strip you thought you’d already read.  Just laugh again!  Haha!

By the way, you can plan on these changes taking effect some time this coming weekend.

Between now and then, if you’re angry at us, perhaps you can sympathize with Santino, the angry chimp!
